Cremation has long been known as an alternative to bodily burial,"internment," in the ground.Theologically,it no way discounts our understanding of resurrection of the body and life everlasting. It simply speeds the natural process by which the body decomposes in burial.  As far as the Christian faith is concerned, the method of internment or inurnment is unimportant, as long as what remains is treated with dignity and respect. By common consent,we agree there is no more reverent way to dispose of that which has been set apart and used to the glory of God.
