Children are special people at FBSUMC, and we endeavor to cooperate with parents in bringing up each child in the love and nurture of the Lord. These early experiences of church begin at baptism and last a lifetime.  At a child's baptism, the church family states together that "with God's help, we will so order our lives after the example of Christ, that this child, surrounded by steadfast love, may be established in the faith and strengthened in the way that leads to life eternal." The Children’s ministries at FBSUMC want to support and encourage parents as they seek spiritual formation for their children in these formative years.

Infant through four-year-old children experience God’s love through story and song, art and play, and strong, loving adults who model God’s care for them.

Children in elementary school experience God in many ways through Sunday School and mid-week programming.

Children in 5th grade are in a special "Tweens in Transition" class and they also get to experience much of the regular children's ministry.  They also begin to take leadership in some of these ministries.
