Church Responsibilities:	Work with Program Ministries staff to provide Christian formation experiences for all ages through Sunday school, Bible studies, missional outreach and age-appropriate spiritual development.  Part of Leadership Staff and Ministerial staff. Interact with all aspects of the church for the flourishing of community and relationship between God, one another, and the world.  Lead in worship and participate in overall plan to provide pastoral care to our faith community.
What I love about First Broad Street:	There is a spirit of collaboration and cooperation at First Broad Street UMC that enables this church to keep striving to be kingdom people, on mission with Christ, for the blessing of the world.

Family:	Married for 32 years to Parke Deans, Minister of Music at Abingdon Baptist Church (VA). Two daughters, Carole, a music therapist, and Ruth, an account representative.
Education:	BM in Music Therapy from University of Miami, 1977.  MDiv from Wake Forest University Divinity School, Winston Salem, 2005.  Ordained Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in 2005.
