Welcome to the Music Ministries of First Broad Street UMC.  This Church has provided a long tradition of outstanding music offerings to its community of worshipers and to the community of Kingsport.  We have a Comprehensive program designed to enhance and support our various styles of worship.  With over 18 ensembles we can provide a spot for anyone with a desire to serve the Lord in music.  We have various levels of choral ensembles, instrumental ensembles, children and youth choirs, bell choirs, praise choirs and even a bluegrass gospel ensemble.

Fall Music Events
and beginnings

August 12th, Youth choir begins and parent meeting 4-5:00

August 15^th is Registration for Art and Soul for all children from pre-school to the 5^th grade.  Call Janet Lyon for further info. 

August 17-18 is our annual beginning of the year children’s choir retreat. We have a special clinician that will be with us. Her name is Martha Bown. She conducts the Lake Junaluska regional children’s choir called Voices in the Laurel.

August 19, Art and Soul children sing for Pairs and Spares Sunday School class, beginning and sing for call to worship at the 10:45 service.

August 22 Art and Soul for all children will begin. Starting time is at 5:30. Be on the look out for the complete schedule.

August 22 Middle school bell choir starts at 6:15 in choir room.  call Les Hutson for details

August 22 orchestra begins at 6:00 in Sanctuary.  Call Gay Aycock for further info.

August 26 after church, music committee meeting rm 127.

August 27 Matin Bells begin at 10:00 am and Cantalina Bells at 6:00.  All are welcome.  Contact Les Hutson for details.

September 10, Silver Bells begin at 12:30 and Sounds of Joy choir at 1:30.  For more info. contact Les Hutson

The music ministry is also offering an ongoing Sunday School Class called "Set to Music", meets at 9:30 on Sundays in the choir room.
