Communion Offering

. . . . . . First Broad Street offers a variety of opportunities to become involved in outreach and mission ministries through local, national, and international experiences. These opportunities are offered both by providing resources and financial gifts and through the many personal experiences in the numerous ministries of SERVE. It is our goal that the congregation, through these experiences, may come to know missions as a lifestyle, not an event. We ask that you prayerfully consider where God can use you in his desire to meet the needs of all people in the name of the compassionate Christ.

Communion Offering

How the congregation supports the needs of SERVE ministries:

“Faith Promise Offering” - is an opportunity for you to provide financial gifts through
second mile giving that is above your annual commitment to the operating budget of
the church. This gift is based on faith in what you feel God may additionally bless you
with in the year to come and is only given as provided; thus pledged on faith. The “Faith
Promise Offering” allows the congregation to become involved in many exciting ministries
that range from support of outreach programs to financing mission trips around the world.
It also allows us to be responsive to emerging opportunities throughout the year as well as disaster response to both man made and natural disasters. The congregation makes
their pledge to “Faith Promise” during the annual Mission Celebration in early spring.

UMCOR Sager Brown - is the collection depot in Baldwin, Louisiana where the United
Methodist Church collects kits assembled to meet specific needs in areas around the world
and dispenses them during times of disaster and human desperation. Local congregations
from across the United Methodist Church accumulate kits for flood relief, health and hygiene, education, hunger, and the general necessities of life in response to the work and ministries
of the United Methodist Committee on Relief. This opportunity is made available to the congregation at FBSUMC several times a year upon UMCOR request.

our community who come to our door with needs. This offering also allows FBSUMC to
participate in the Kingsport Community Ministry Center, a faith based multi-church ministry assisting people in financial distress. back to top

of those who live around us, experiencing and sharing God’s grace, and the warmth of
