CONFIRMATION CELEBRATION

16 youth participated in Confirmation this year from August 2007 - April 2008

The Confirmands celebrated their Baptism at the Bloomingdale Retreat Property on April 19, 2008.

These youth are standing at the same pulpit that John Wesley preached from many years ago and will have their own impact during their faith journey.

God calls us to make our Church a safe place, protecting our children and other vulnerable people from sexual and other forms of abuse. God calls us to create a community of faith where children and adults grow safe and strong.

First Broad Street’s purpose for establishing a Safe Sanctuaries Policy and Procedure is to demonstrate our absolute and unwavering commitment to the physical safety and spiritual growth of all our children, youth and adults.

Therefore, as a Christian community of faith and a United Methodist congregation, we pledge to conduct the ministries of the gospel in ways that assure the safety and spiritual growth of all of our children, youth and adults as well as all workers with children, youth and adults.

Safe Sanctuary Training is offered as needed during the year.  Once classroom training is received, persons wishing to renew their Safe Sanctuary status may download the Participation Covenant Statement for 2007.  This form can be used for two years after classroom training.  Please fill it out and return to the Minister of Education and Programs.
